Warren-Averbach method
Clicking on the bottom "Open real peaks", the user can open the real peaks fitted in Peak correction.
Clicking on “Strip curve”, the software will remove the background of the diffraction pattern data using Silx Strip(). To improve the result, the user can change the number of iterations.
Clicking on “Select peaks stripped”, the user must press the left mouse button and drag to select the peaks of interest. The second plot window will show the zoomed selected peak fitted by a Pseudo-Voigt function, and the fitted FWHM and center as a result. The third plot window will show the peak centered. A pop-up window will appear to confirm if the fit is good. If the user cancels, the peak fit will not be saved.
After saving the peak fit, click on “Plot A(L) vs L” and in the second plot window press the left mouse button and drag to select the region of interest. The third plot window will show this region zoomed.
Clicking on “Polynomial fit”, the software will perform a multiple order polynomial fit in this region to obtain a function of A(L) vs L. If the fit is good, the user can save the fit by clicking on “Save fit”.
At this point, the user must select another peak in the first plot window and repeat the steps above. After fitting two peaks, the button “Plot As(L) vs L” will appear. Clicking on this button, the software will perform a linear extrapolation on the lnAL(1/d) vs 1/d² plot for L’s values obtained by the multiple-order polynomial fit.
When the linear extrapolation has finished, the user must press the left mouse button and drag to select a region to perform a linear extrapolation on the ALs vs L in the second plot window. The software will obtain (directly from the abscissa intercept) the area-weighted crystallite size <L>A. It is possible to save all curves in a txt file.
